All courses develop and strengthen fine motor skills, and hand eye coordination, in an enjoyable art atmosphere.

• Field studies show that art education helps develop and improve math skills, reading, writing, social studies and science

• We realize the potential that art has to broaden our understanding of the world, show the world as we imagine it, and express ideas, feelings and dreams

• Students learn about the history of the art we observe during class as well as techniques used by artists throughout history

• A guided lesson is done in class; while the student's own interpretation and creativity are allowed to develop in a fun, enriching, and educational environment

Class level is determined by student's age as follows:

3-Dimensional Art Techniques

A wide variety of subjects and projects are presented using age-appropriate materials to present fine art concepts and to study art history (i.e. focus on artists and their techniques and the current events of the time). Explore techniques with a variety of 3-D mediums including but not limited to: clay, wire, found objects, papier-mâché, and much more

2-Dimensional Art Techniques

As above, a wide variety of age-appropriate subjects are used to create 2-D artwork that explores fine art concepts (such as: perspective, 3-D rendering of objects, how to use different mediums, etc.) and art history. Materials used: various paints, markers, colored pencils, pastels, charcoal, collage, graphite, and watercolor; plus combinations of the preceding. Subject complexity increases with age.
